The Fire and Rescue Services Industry Training Organisation is responsible for setting the accreditation criteria and moderation requirements for its standard setting responsibility.
Accreditation - In Partnership with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, we administer the accreditation of organisations wishing to provide training for unit standards under its standard setting responsibility. Providers with accreditation need to ensure they continue to meet the accreditation requirements. Providers seeking accreditation require support for their application from FRSITO preferably prior to the application being lodged.
The accreditation section of the registered FRSITO AMAP sets out the criteria to be met and the FRSITO Provider Manual expands and clarifies the criteria and the information required prior to a letter of support being issued.
Moderation - FRSITO developed the national external moderation system, to ensure that assessment decisions of accredited Tertiary Education Organisations and schools are consistent with the national standards. All accredited TEOs and schools assessing against the standards under FRSITOs standard setting responsibility must meet the requirements for moderation outlined in the AMAP.
The moderation section of the registered FRSITO AMAP sets out the moderation system to be met and the FRSITO Provider Manual expands and clarifies the requirements and providers detailed information on the ‘Moderation Agreement’.
