ITAG provides the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of FRSITO with expert advice and recommendations in the development and review of; unit standards and qualifications, learning resources, assessment tools, and the articulation and cross crediting of complementary qualifications.
The key responsibilities of ITAG are to:
ensure new unit standards for development are fulfilling a need
provide technical advice into the development of new unit standards
make final recommendations to the Board on endorsing new unit standards
Development and review of appropriate Accreditation and Moderation Action Plans that define specific industry requirements relating to the 8 accreditation criteria for the accreditation of providers.
Development and review of appropriate Moderation System/s.
Monitoring the development and publishing of the National Moderation report and practice/assessment notes.
Approval of documentation to gain accreditation from NZQA to register work place assessors.
Oversight of the training and registration of assessors and moderators.
Oversight of the development of assessment instruments (eg. Common Assessment Tasks, RUSAT) that can assist in achieving consistent assessment.
Definition of specific RCC criteria.
