EMQUAL will ensure that sufficient workplace assessors are registered to allow the industry to meet its training goals.
Assessment is the means by which a trainee's skills, knowledge and overall competence are measured against the performance criteria of unit standards. All assessment must be:
valid
reliable
flexible
fair
The National Moderator is responsible for registering workplace assessors or to extend the scope of currently registered workplace assessors.
Assessors may be register for unit standards for which EMQUAL is not the Standard Setting Body, but for which EMQUAL holds accreditation, at the discretion of the National Moderator.
EMQUAL endorses a Code of Practice for all workplace assessors and views seriously any breaches of this Code. Assessors must also comply with EMQUAL policies and procedures and the moderation system.
